1. We should read The Odyssey because there is a lot we can learn from it.  We learn about teamwork, and how, with the right planning, we can accomplish anything, and how honesty is important.  Lies don't help us at all, they only hurt people. These are some of the things we can learn from The Odyssey.
2. The Odyssey conects with people today because we learn some of the same lessons in life, that are taught in this book.  Some people can relate to this book because they have had an experience that has had the same outcome as one in the book.  This is how we can connect with The Odyssey.
